Watering Schedule Calculator

Stop guessing. Enter your plant type, pot size, and growing conditions to get a personalized watering schedule.

How This Calculator Works

Our watering calculator uses plant-specific data combined with environmental factors to estimate your ideal watering frequency. It considers:

  • Plant species — each plant has different water needs based on its natural habitat.
  • Pot size — larger pots retain moisture longer, smaller pots dry out faster.
  • Light level — more light increases transpiration and water uptake.
  • Season — plants use more water during active growth (spring/summer) than dormancy (winter).
  • Pot material — terracotta dries faster than plastic or ceramic.

Note: These are estimates. Always check soil moisture before watering — use the finger test (insert your finger 1-2 inches into the soil) or a moisture meter. Conditions like humidity, airflow, and soil type also affect watering needs.
